@ Beatrice Hall I agree, it is an island shaped like a palm and built on land taken from the waters itself, but it is truly worth visiting and residing in.
I personally found The Palm to be a splendid place to live and appreciate the architecture beauty of the place. It’s quite unbelievable to live in one of the rented houses surrounded by the magnificent sea. We especially liked visiting the Atlantis Hotel where everything was of first quality. There are plenty of other hotels located on The Palm and every hotel faces the sea. Here, you can watch amazing views of the sunset while having tea or dinner. I am sure that other travelers will enjoy their stay in the area as it is truly a marvel of modern architecture.
Palm Jumeirah is an artificial island that is shaped like a Palm tree. This is certainly impressive, but there are not a lot of things to do in the area. If you like to experience peace and quietness of a secluded residence though, it is ideal for you.
Palm Jumeirah is an absolutely beautiful place. I visited several hotels located in the area and I have to say that everything is premium quality and set in a stunning surrounding. I was really impressed by the ingenuity and creativity of the developers. You should get an aerial view of the place to fully appreciate the magnificence of the place. A cheaper way to view The Palm is to take the 15 minute monorail ride up to the Atlantic Resorts. Riding the monorail itself offers an amazing experience especially from the front seat!
We rented a house in the Palm Jumeirah at the Waldorf Astoria. The place is secluded and peaceful. Although you cannot detect the shape of the Palm except when looking at it from the sky. But you can take an air ride - helicopter or airplane - to view the spectacular shape of the area. You can also view the beautiful shape of the island from the top of the Burj Al Arab located nearby. The very fact that you are living on an area that has been built on sand dredged land from the ocean seems quite amazing!
