One thing that should absolutely be on your list of things to do in Bali, is visiting the Ubud Monkey Forest. The place is a complex containing a nature reserve and Hindu temple. It is a famous tourist attraction in Indonesia and is visited by over 10,000 tourists each month. The forest is spread over an area of 10 hectares and has over a hundred species of trees. The park is hilly and heavy forested. The place is also a home to three Hindu temples that were built around 1350. There are a number of interesting things to do in Ubud Monkey Forest. You can visit the historical Hindu temples in the complex which include the Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, the Pura Prajapati and the Pura Beji. All of these are historical Hindu sites and have a cultural history. The forest is home to a variety of animals, most important of them being the crab eating macaques. Also known as the Balinese long tailed monkey, they offer an interesting sight to the visitors. You can also find a small herd of Timor rusa, a type of deer found locally.
