Bazaruto Island

A combination of clear coastal waters and a sandy island, the Bazaruto Island is located on the southeastern side, around 80 kilometers, from the opening of Save River in Mozambique. It is also claimed to be the largest island within Bazaruto Archipelago and Bazaruto National Park. The island comprises of lakes, blooming planktons as well as limestone rocks and is featured in a British television game show called Prize Island that first aired on October 27, 2013.

Benguerra Island

Although it has been a thousand years since Beguerra Island separated from the mainland, it is still the second largest island in Bazaruto Archipelago. Also known by the name Santa Antonia, mostly by the Portuguese, the island spans for around 55 square kilometers and is at a distance of 14 kilometers offshore. It is popular for its activities that include horseback riding, fishing, diving and also for its luxurious resorts and pallid beaches.

Magaruque Island

Originally known as Ilha Santa Isabel, the Magaruque Island is located in Mozambique but outside its coast. Situated at a distance of 5.6 kilometers in the southern direction of Benguerra Island and at a distance of 9.9 km from Ponta Chuè in the eastern direction, the island forms a part of the Bazaruto Archipelago. For visitors keen to explore, the island hosts six lavish villas named after shells like Cowrie, Pansy Shell, Nautilus, Conch, and others that can be found in the sand.
