The symbol of elegant and breathtaking architectural design, the Burj Khalifa is a landmark of Dubai city. It is a mega tall skyscraper which is recognized to be the tallest artificial structure in the entire world. The actual height of the tower is estimated to be at 829.8 meters, that is 2,722 feet.
The tower is the centerpiece of Downtown ’ubai's development, and was designed by Adrian Smith. The company, who got the project for the tallest building in the world, also designed other popular buildings like the One World Trade Center and the Willis Towers. The actual design of the building has been inspired from the different patterning systems which are recognized to be an embodiment of authentic Islamic architecture. The purpose was to incorporate the historical and cultural elements which hold significance for the region, including the minaret design.
The building has been designed with a total of 57 elevators, along with 8 escalators. The elevators have been fitted with a capacity to transport 12 to around 14 people at one time. The spire of the building is a total of 244 meter long. The Armani Hotel occupies the 15 lower floors of the total 39 floors. There are sky lobbies built on the 43rd floor and there are swimming pools on the 76th floor. The set of floors to the 108th floor, have a total of 900 private residential apartments.
Some interesting features of the building are the Dubai Fountain at its base and the observation deck at its topmost floor. There is also the Burj Khalifa Park built around an artificial water body.
It is a main museum within Dubai city, and is located at the site of the Al Fahidi Fort. The building was constructed in the year 1787, and is recognized as one of the oldest buildings within Dubai. The museum was opened in 1971, as a means of presenting the way of life which is lived in the Emirates. The fort has a designed path to the main galleries. The exhibits include the land’s culture in the 1800s and the local antiquities along with the different artifacts that are traded with the Asian and African countries. There are many dioramas on display in the museum as well.
The main entrance to the museum galleries is built in the tower which lies at the south west corner in the fort. Some galleries have old Dubai maps on display, while a video room depicts the discovery of oil on the land of the city. There is also a walk through exhibit of a mock souk, while different archaeological findings from various nearby excavation sites are also held on display in the museum.

The third tallest hotel in the whole world is located in Dubai by the famous name of Burj Al Arab. It is an interesting fact that around 39% of the total space of the hotel is in actual, non-occupiable space. The wondrous hotel has been built to stand on an artificial island which measures 280 m from the famous Jumeirah Beach. The hotel island is connected to the central mainland through a specially designed private curving bridge.
The main shape of the hotel has been designed in the structure of a ship’s sail. The hotel has a helipad built near the roof top, which is at a total of around 210 m above the ground. The land on which the hotel is built was previously called as Chicago Beach and the Burj Al Arab has been built on reclaimed land. The main idea behind the hotel design was to have a structure which would become a symbol and statement for the land of Dubai, just like Big Ben is for London, and that is why the hotel was designed by Atkins, which is a multidisciplinary consultancy firm.
An interesting feature of the hotel is the concrete honeycomb patterned surface which has been expressly done to prevent any erosion in the foundations. The atrium within the building is 180m tall. There are 28 double storey floors, which have been designed to accommodate a total of 202 bedroom suites. Two great restaurants named, the Al Muntaha and the Al Mahara, are part of the Burj Al Arab hotel.
The gargantuan aquarium within the Dubai Mall, offers a mesmerizing sight for all tourists and locals who pay the place a visit. There is a lot to see from the outside of the aquarium as well, but a stroll through the specially designed walk through tunnel offers a spectacular view of a variety of marine life darting here and there, with sharks and rays stealing the show and being the top attractions.
Boasting some of the largest water tanks in the world, measuring to about 51m x 21 x 11m, the Dubai Aquarium also features the largest viewing panel. This panel is measured to have the dimensions of 8.3 m high and 32.8m wide. With more than 30,000 animals living at the site, the Dubai Museum offers around 85 species of animals for viewing, which also include the 400 rays and sharks swimming around in the tank.
Along with the aquarium, visitors also get to spend time at the underwater zoo, where the star attraction is the King Croc, who is a 5.1 m long crocodile of Australian breed. The 40 years old reptile lives with Queen Croc and entertains the crowds. Other fascinating attractions include the air breathing African lungfish, giant spider crabs, and sea dragons.

The amazing features of this park include the cool and heated wave pool, 2 artificially designed surfing machines along with multiple water slides to offer an enjoyable experience every time. One interesting fact is that the water park had the largest water slides built outside North America, but they were replaced to make room for two other park rides.
One main feature of the park is the waterfall with a height of 18 m that has been programmed to go off after every 10 minutes. There are 2 gift shops, with snack stands and restaurants in the water park to provide the visitors with an enjoyable and relaxing experience. There are a total of 17 water slides and 3 pools in the park, and new work is always underway for the improvement of the park and rides.
Some of the most popular park rides include the Falaj Fury, and the Wadi Basher, with the Tunnel of Doom and the Thunder Rapids. The Tantrum Alley and Burj Surj, FlowRider and Jumeirah Sceirah are other popular new rides in the park.

Dubai Fountain has won the distinction of being the largest dancing fountain that has a choreographed system, to be constructed in the world. The original design for the fountain was created by WET Design, and the Dubai Fountain has been made to be illuminated by around 6,600 lights and has also been given additional features by the installation of 25 projectors. The fountain is around 275 m long, and can shoot water about 500 feet high into the air, along with fascinating music. The choreographed fountain display is accompanied by contemporary Arabic or classic world music, for a complete effect.
The fountain display is clearly visible from all points on the promenade of the Burj Khalifa Lake, as well as from other neighboring buildings. The fountain performance delights all at 1 and 1:30 pm and also after every 30 minutes, starting from 6 to 10 pm during the week. On weekends, the fountain’s choreographed performance is scheduled from 6 to 11 pm.
The complete name of this attraction is the Madinat Jumeirah the Arabian Resort in Dubai, and it is the largest resort in all of the emirates. Madinat Jumeirah is an exclusive luxury 5 star resort, which has been built across a landscape of 40 acres of gardens. The resort has been designed just like a traditional town in Arabia.
The original plan of the resort includes 2 boutique hotels, which are the Mina A’ Salam and the Al Qasar. There is also a courtyard of 29 stylish summer houses which has been named as Dar Al Masyaf. This lavish and luxurious resort has around 40 bars and restaurants in total.
