The gargantuan aquarium within the Dubai Mall offers a mesmerizing sight for all tourists and locals who pay the place a visit. There is a lot to see from the outside of the aquarium as well, but a stroll through the specially designed walk-through tunnel offers a spectacular view of a variety of marine life darting here and there, with sharks and rays stealing the show and being the top attractions. Boasting some of the largest water tanks in the world, measuring to about 51m x 21 x 11m, the Aquarium and Underwater Zoo also features the largest viewing panel. This panel is measured to have the dimensions of 8.3 m high and 32.8m wide. With more than 30,000 animals living at the site, the Aquarium and Underwater Zoo offers around 85 species of animals for viewing, which also include the 400 rays and sharks swimming around in the tank. Along with the aquarium, visitors also get to spend time at the underwater zoo, where the star attraction is the King Croc, who is a 5.1 m long crocodile of Australian breed. The 40 years old reptile lives with Queen Croc and entertains the crowds. Other fascinating attractions include the air-breathing African lungfish, giant spider crabs, and sea dragons.
