The symbol of elegant and breathtaking architectural design, the Burj Khalifa is a landmark of Dubai city. It is a mega tall skyscraper which is recognized to be the tallest artificial structure in the entire world. The actual height of the tower is estimated to be at 829.8 meters, that is 2,722 feet. The tower is the centerpiece of Downtown ’ubai's development, and was designed by Adrian Smith. The company, who got the project for the tallest building in the world, also designed other popular buildings like the One World Trade Center and the Willis Towers. The actual design of the building has been inspired from the different patterning systems which are recognized to be an embodiment of authentic Islamic architecture. The purpose was to incorporate the historical and cultural elements which hold significance for the region, including the minaret design. The building has been designed with a total of 57 elevators, along with 8 escalators. The elevators have been fitted with a capacity to transport 12 to around 14 people at one time. The spire of the building is a total of 244 meter long. The Armani Hotel occupies the 15 lower floors of the total 39 floors. There are sky lobbies built on the 43rd floor and there are swimming pools on the 76th floor. The set of floors to the 108th floor, have a total of 900 private residential apartments. Some interesting features of the building are the Dubai Fountain at its base and the observation deck at its topmost floor. There is also the Burj Khalifa Park built around an artificial water body.
