For lovers of science and archeology, the city of Rabat has a marvelous place to visit and make most of their vacation. The museum hosts on display a large number of chronicles from pre history to modern historical times. Labeled as its most impressive display is the 150 million years old Sauropod Dinosaur whose skeleton is a remarkable 15 meters high. 12. New Rabat City - Rabat

New Rabat City

Not very different from the old citadel, the city also carries shades of both Muslim Medieval period and Western Modernism. The modern city was built under the French protectorate in the early 20th Century. Declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO for its treasured historical monuments and places, Rabat’s modern rendition hosts a population of 1.7 million citizens and is the national capital which also houses the Royal Palace of the King of Morocco. 13. Salé Medina - Rabat

This is the older citadel of the north western city of Sale in Morocco which is on the right bank of Bou Regreg River. It was a pirate heaven once but was later conquered and made part of the Alaouite Morocco. Connected via national route 6 to Fez and Meknes cities, this has a population of 900,000 people. Its history dates back to the times of its earliest founders, The Phoenicians who made the initial citadel. Ruins and chronicles from those times through the Roman period to Muslim conquests still attract tourists to date.
