If Rome has a heart, then it must be Piazza Venezia. This is one of the central squares of the city, and is located near the middle, and has intersections with some of the most popular streets of the city. The buzz here is fantastic, and the markets are great. The view is even better. The piazza is surrounded by fantastic buildings and monuments. This is the times square of Rome, and if you are a tourist in this city then you absolutely cannot miss this place. The Vittorio Emmanuele II monument is the most imposing site at the piazza. Built in 1925, the monument is huge, and gives a beautiful background to the Piazza Venezia. The Capitoline Hill is also located right on the piazza, and so is the Forum Traiani. This piazza is filled with sites you would want to take pictures of, and we would recommend coming here again at night as well. During the day time you will get so see the great local life, and busy markets and vendors. During the night you will be able to see the splendor around the piazza in all its glory, as all the monuments and buildings around it are tastefully lit.
