A national park in Tanzania, the Serengeti National Park is located within the regions of Simiyu and Mara. The park is a part of the Serengeti ecosystem and is famous for the annual migration of more than 1.5 million brindled or white bearded wildebeest with a numerous amount of Nile crocodiles and around 25,000 zebras. It is indeed a great spectacle to behold, along with being a critical part of the park’s natural ecosystem. It is also the longest and the largest migration of wildlife to take place in the world. The entire park covers an area of around 14,750 square km of land, which includes the savannahs, grassland plains, woodlands and riverine forests. Located within the northwestern region of Tanzania, the park is actually bordered by the Kenyan border up to the north, and from there, it continues as a part of the Maasai Maara National Reserve. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area lies to the southeast section of the park, while towards the southwest is the Maswa Game Reserve. While being famous for the migration of certain wildlife, the park is also home to various other animals.
