Tyre was known as the Queen of the Seas and was a Phoenician city that was founded around the 3rd millennium BC. It holds immense historical significance as it was the spot of several invasions from famous conquerors such as Alexander the Great. After 7 centuries, the king of the city, Ahiram, expanded Tyre by joining two islets and taking possession of a considerable expanse of land from the sea to erect two ports.
