Located in the Piazza Dei Miracoli next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Pisa Baptistery of St. John or Battistero di San Giovanni is the biggest baptistery in Italy. The development began in 1152 and finished in 1363.
The building is around 55 meters high with a breadth around 34 meters. Built on similar unsteady sand as the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery inclines 0.6 degrees toward the church.
The inside is overpowering with the bronze figure of St. John the Baptist in the center and on the podium you can see the bare Hercules.
