1. Kailasagiri - Visakhapatnam


Kailasagiri is a hill top park in the city of Vishakhapatnam. The hill is at 360 feet and it overlooks beaches, forests & the city of Vishakhapatnam. It is one of the best tourist spots in the city for a bird's eye view of the bay. The place offers plenty of leisure activities which is also one of the reasons for people visiting the place. For small children, circular train is there for fun and enjoyment. Moreover, among adventure games, it gives visitors really good paragliding facilities.


2. Simhachalam Temple - Visakhapatnam

Simhachalam temple is well connected from Vizag city centers and there is a local station stop for trains. Long distance express trains usually do not stop here. From Vizag Railway station it is 45 minutes drive by road and 30 minutes from airport. Frequent buses available locally for hill top. There is a Trekking route available for trekking lovers from Madhavadhara side, two hours climbing to temple premises with steep natural stone steps and a beautiful view of Vizag city and at the other side the temple view from hill top.


3. Bheemili Beach - Visakhapatnam

Considered to be one of the safest, Bheemunipatnam, also known as ‘Bhimlipatam’ or ‘Bheemli’ beach is located at the mouth of Gosthani River in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh and is a scene 24 km drive from Visakhapatnam. The distance is comfortable for an early evening drive with the family from Vizag to the beach and back to the city. An old 18th Century lighthouse is another attraction on the beach that guides ships at sea even today.


4. Borra Caves - Visakhapatnam

Borra Caves are located at a distance of 92 Km north of Visakhapatnam. The caves open with 100 meter on horizontal plane and about 75 meters on vertical plane. These caves spread over an area of one square KM and the origin of river Gosthani which flows through the district. This you must see if you are in Araku Valley or in Visakhapatnam. This location is at a height of 800 to 1300 meters from MSL. William King the British geologist discovered this million years old cave in the year 1807.


5. Indira Gandhi Zoological Park - Visakhapatnam

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is located amidst Kambalakonda Reserve Forest in Visakhapatnam. This Zoological Park is named after The Former Prime Minister Of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi. It was declared open to the public on 19 May 1977.[2] It covers an area of 625 acres (253 ha). The Zoo Park is about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from the Visakhapatnam railway station on the NH5 near Madhurwada. It has two Entrance and Exit gates oppositely. One towards NH5 and the other towards Beach road at Sagarnagar.


6. INS Kursura - Visakhapatnam

INS Kursura, the out of service submarine that fought in the war of 1971, stands elegantly like a giant whale. In black color on the famous RK beach of Visakhapatnam aka Vishakhapatnam. From a height, it appears like a fish out of the water. It is now one of its kind submarine museum in Asia. Only second in the world where you can go inside the submarine. And for some time feel the lives of those who live in them under the water. As they work towards securing our lives on land. It was built by the Russians and first came to Visakhapatnam in 1970.
