What to Expect: A Detailed Breakdown

Arrival and Check-in at Machine Gun America

Your adventure begins with a friendly greeting from staff who will sit you down to give an overview of the available firearms and safety procedures. This initial briefing is crucial, especially since handling automatic weapons requires a good understanding of safety protocols. The staff members are described as professional, many with military or law enforcement backgrounds, and they take safety seriously—something travelers consistently praise.

The Shooting Range Experience

Once briefed, you’ll be led into the purpose-built indoor range. Here, you can select any five firearms from an extensive collection—one of the largest in the US, according to the tour info. The variety includes iconic automatic weapons such as the AK-47, MP40, Tommy Gun, and M3A1 “Grease Gun”. Some reviews mention specific requests, like shooting a 9mm Sten SMG, which adds a personal touch if you’re a gun history buff.

The staff will guide you through shooting techniques, ensuring you stay safe while enjoying the thrill of firing these powerful guns. You’ll have the opportunity to receive an extra magazine for two guns of your choice, which enhances the experience and allows for more fun per firearm.

The Emphasis on Safety and Control

Despite the high-powered nature of the guns, the environment receives high praise for its safety measures—”fabulous experience in a totally safe environment,” one reviewer states. You’ll be under supervision throughout, with professionals constantly monitoring. This focus on safety makes this experience accessible for those with no prior firearms experience, as long as they meet age and health requirements.

Additional Features and Logistics

The package includes transportation by private vehicle (minimum of two shooters), making logistics easier and more comfortable. Pickup and drop-off at your Orlando hotel mean you won’t need to worry about transportation logistics—always a plus in busy Orlando.

Operation hours are generous—open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, allowing you to fit this activity into your schedule easily. The experience lasts roughly half an hour to an hour and a half, depending on your package and how many guns you shoot.

Authentic Traveler Perspectives

One reviewer raved, “Fabulous experience in a completely safe and well-controlled environment,” highlighting the professionalism of staff. Others appreciated the variety of guns available and called the staff “a blast to shoot with,” emphasizing the knowledgeable guidance. Many found the experience “worth every penny,” with some noting that it was the highlight of their visit—better than a cruise disembarkation or other traditional attractions.

The cost of $380 might seem steep at first glance, but as one reviewer pointed out, “when you factor in ammo and permits, it’s a pretty good deal.” The inclusion of safety briefings and professional supervision adds significant value, especially for those new to shooting sports.

The Experience’s Unique Appeal

What makes Machine Gun America’s shooting package stand out is the combination of high-power firearms, expert instruction, and safety. Unlike casual shooting ranges, this experience offers a controlled environment to fire automatic weapons used by military and law enforcement, creating a sense of authenticity and excitement.

The environment is designed to be fun and safe, with a focus on education rather than danger. This is especially reassuring given the powerful firearms involved, as multiple reviews mention the professionalism of the staff and the strict safety procedures.
