Where is Abu Dhabi? The capital of the United Arab Emirates and the second most populous city in the country, Abu Dhabi lies on a T shaped island based in the Persian Gulf from the central west coast. The best part about this destination is that it experiences sunshine almost year round, pleasant winter temperatures and little rainfall. This pretty much makes it an ideal tourist location. The sub tropical climate ensures blue skies and sometimes high temperatures and the Oasis City of Al Ain is the only place in the Emirates which experiences frequent rains.
Temperatures in Abu Dhabi range from as low as a comfortable 13°C in winters to at most 42°C in summers. Rainfall usually occurs between November and March and not more than 12cms per year. However, it never really gets too cold with 24°C in the day. You should bundle up a bit if you plan on visiting during that time but in summers lightweight clothing will suffice. Make sure to bring some jackets or sweaters along with you even in summers though. All of the major hotels, malls and resorts have strong air conditioning which might make you a bit chilly.
You can wear short or tight clothes but local customs dictate a modest/unrevealing wardrobe especially during holy months such as Ramadan and Eid. Malls, health clubs and resorts have a more tolerant policy regarding fashion. The city is virtually crime free and boasts well organized emergency services that are extremely responsive.
Where Abu Dhabi is, is not difficult to find out, but no trip to Abu Dhabi is complete without a visit to Ferrari World, the world’s largest indoor theme park that plays homage to Ferrari.
The park is located on Yas Island which is just a 30 minute drive from Dubai Marinna and just 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport. For an up close look at a spectacular mosque and ancient architecture the Shekh Zayed Grand Mosque is also a must visit. The Al Ain Camel Market is a popular stop for animal lovers while the Al Ain Zoo has a variety of exotic wild animals on display. The Arabian Nights village seems like an oasis in the middle of the dessert so it is little wonder why it is a popular tourist stop. So, to wrap it up, where is Abu Dhabi? In the United Arab Emirates, which welcomes tourists in droves each year and is considered one of the most welcoming tourist destinations in the world.
