Where is Hawaii?

United States of America

If you are planning a trip to the United States of America, then you must include Hawaii in your must visit places list. Hawaii gets its name from the island of Hawaii, and it is said that the name originates from Hawaii Loa, the man who discovered the place. It is said that Captain James Cook was the first European to visit the island in 1778. Since the island was ruled by Polynesian royals, this is the only state that has a palace.

One question you may have is that where is Hawaii exactly located. The state is near the Pacific Ocean and is nearly 2,100 miles towards the southeast from the mainland. The state of Hawaii is truly unique because it is the only state that does not fall under the continent of North America, and was the last state to become a part of the US in the year 1959. It is the only state in the US that has a second official language.

The state is made up of 132 islands, and its capital is Honolulu. The terrain of the state is truly unique as it consists of several active and inactive volcanoes, the biggest one being Mauna Loa. The temperature here ranges according to altitude, and the region experiences different climates.

Hawaii has a diverse range of people of different cultures, including Polynesian, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Asian, and Caucasian descent. Almost three-fourth of the population lives on the main islands, which includes Maui and Oahu. One of the main sources of income of this state is tourism. After this, the second most important industry is food processing, and Hawaii is known to be the one the biggest producers of pineapples.

Now that you know where is Hawaii, it is time to move on to which places you should be visiting when in this state. Hawaii is also called the Paradise of the Pacific Ocean because of its beautiful topography that ranges from sandy white beaches to beautiful mountains, and also includes beautiful canyons, mighty waterfalls, and lush vegetation that includes coconut trees, palm trees, and exotic flowers.

The best part about Hawaii is that each island has something unique to offer. If you want to enjoy good food and relax at the beach, then head to Oahu. In order to enjoy hiking and food, you must visit the Big Island and Maui. On the other hand, Lanai, Molokai and Kauai are known for their lifestyle and beautiful beaches.
