How to Buy La Perle Show Tickets

A woman dove from a platform 25 meters above the stage, plunged through a hole in the floor that wasn’t there two seconds ago, and disappeared into a pool of water that had appeared from nowhere. The audience gasped. I gasped. Then acrobats on motorcycles circled the ceiling.

That’s La Perle by Dragone. It’s what happens when the creator of Cirque du Soleil’s most famous shows moves to Dubai and decides to build something with no limits on budget or ambition.

Circus acrobatics performance show with performers
La Perle combines Cirque du Soleil-level acrobatics with technology that doesn’t exist anywhere else. The stage transforms between water, solid floor, and open air in seconds. The performers are world-class — many are former Olympic athletes and circus veterans.

La Perle is Dubai’s permanent live show — 90 minutes of acrobatics, water stunts, aerial performances, and visual effects that cost $13 million per year to produce. Tickets start at $61 and it performs several times a week at Al Habtoor City.

Dramatic water show with fountain effects
The water effects are the signature of La Perle. The stage floor opens and fills with 2.7 million liters of water in seconds. Performers dive from platforms, swim through underwater sequences, and the water disappears as quickly as it appeared. The engineering is astonishing.

What Makes La Perle Special

Dubai has no shortage of entertainment. But La Perle exists in its own category. Here’s what sets it apart from everything else in the city.

Acrobat performing on aerial silk high above stage
The aerial performers work without nets. Silk aerialists spin and drop from the ceiling with a precision that looks effortless but requires years of training. Every movement is choreographed to the music, the lighting, and the water effects below.

The aqua stage. The stage floor opens and fills with water in seconds, then drains just as fast. Performers dive from 25-meter platforms into pools that appear and vanish. It’s the only show of its kind in the Middle East.

65 artists from 23 countries. The cast includes former Olympic divers, world-champion acrobats, and circus performers recruited from the best shows on Earth. The physical ability on display is extraordinary.

Trapeze artist swinging high above circus stage
The trapeze sequences are among the most impressive I’ve seen in any live show. The artists swing, release, spin, and catch each other at heights that make the audience collectively hold their breath. When someone lands perfectly after a triple somersault, the relief in the room is audible.

No dialogue. The show tells its story through movement, music, and visual effects. There are no language barriers — it works whether you speak English, Arabic, or neither. The narrative is loose (something about a pearl diver) but honestly, nobody is following the plot. They’re watching humans do impossible things.

Water curtain waterfall effect on theatrical stage
The water curtain effects project images and patterns onto sheets of falling water. Combined with the laser effects and projection mapping, the visual spectacle is genuinely overwhelming. Your eyes don’t know where to look — which is by design.

The Show — Scene by Scene

Without spoiling the surprises (and there are many), here’s the general flow of the 90-minute show.

Dramatic colorful stage lighting effects
The lighting design is as much a performer as the artists. Colours shift, spotlights chase performers across the stage, and the LEDs embedded in the set create environments that change the mood in an instant. One moment it’s a desert, the next it’s underwater.

Act 1 — The Pearl. The opening sequence introduces the pearl diving narrative and the main characters. Aerial silks, floor acrobatics, and the first water reveal — the moment the audience realizes the stage floor can disappear is the first audible gasp of the evening.

Act 2 — The Adventure. The middle section escalates the stunts. High dives from 25 meters, motorcycle wall of death, synchronized swimming sequences, and a fire performance that seems dangerously close to everything else. The pace is relentless.

Fire dancer performing with flames at night
The fire sequences are genuinely intense. Performers manipulate flames in choreographed patterns while other artists work with water just meters away. Fire and water on the same stage, at the same time — it shouldn’t work. It does.

Act 3 — The Finale. Everything comes together. Every performer on stage simultaneously, water effects at full power, aerial artists in the sky, and a crescendo of music and light that leaves the audience on their feet. The standing ovation is universal.

Show finale with confetti celebration and applause
The finale is designed to make you forget you’re in a theatre. The combination of every element — water, fire, acrobatics, music, light — hitting simultaneously creates a sensory overload that tips into pure joy. People leave grinning.

Our Recommended Tickets

1. La Perle by Dragone Show Tickets — $73

Theater stage with lights during performance
Standard tickets put you in the main seating bowl. The theatre is purpose-built for this show — every seat has good sightlines. That said, the closer you are to the stage, the more you feel the water spray during the dive sequences. Front rows get splashed.

The standard ticket gives you full access to the 90-minute show from the main seating bowl. The theatre holds 1,300 seats and there genuinely isn’t a bad view — it was designed specifically for this show.

At $73, the value is strong compared to similar shows worldwide (Cirque du Soleil in Vegas charges $100-$200). Book the 7pm or 9:30pm show depending on your dinner plans. Read our full review of La Perle.

2. Water Canal Cruise + La Perle Show + Dinner — $136

Dubai Water Canal at night with illuminated buildings
The combo package turns La Perle into a full evening event. A canal cruise through Business Bay with the Burj Khalifa visible, followed by dinner at Al Habtoor City, then the show. It’s the premium Dubai night out.

The full evening package starts with a Dubai Water Canal cruise — the illuminated skyline from the water, including the Burj Khalifa and Business Bay towers. Then dinner at one of the restaurants at Al Habtoor City. Then the show.

At $136, it’s nearly double the standalone ticket but you’re getting three experiences in one evening. The canal cruise alone would cost $30-$40 separately. Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, or any evening that deserves more than just dinner. Check our full review of the combo package.

Seating Guide — Where to Sit

The theatre is a 270-degree bowl around a central stage. Every seat has a clear view, but position affects the experience.

Silver ($61-$73): The main bowl. Good views from every seat. Rows 5-10 are the sweet spot — close enough to see the performers’ expressions but far enough to take in the full stage. Front rows (1-3) get splashed during water sequences.

Gold ($90-$110): Premium positions in the centre of the bowl. Slightly elevated for a better overview of the aerial performances. The sound is best in this section.

VIP ($150+): Front-centre positions with the most immersive experience. You’ll feel the wind from the aerial passes and the spray from the water effects. A dedicated VIP lounge with drinks is included.

Practical Tips

Book at least a week in advance. La Perle performs 3-5 times per week and popular shows sell out. Weekend evening performances (Thursday and Friday) go first. Weeknight shows are easier to get but still fill up during peak tourist season.

No photos or videos during the show. The ushers enforce this strictly. Phone screens in a dark theatre ruin the experience for everyone. Enjoy the show with your eyes, not your camera. Official photos are available for purchase afterwards.

The dress code is smart casual. No shorts, no flip-flops. Most audience members dress for an evening out — think dinner attire. You’re at a world-class show in a luxury hotel complex. Dress the part.

Eat before or after, not during. There’s no food service during the show. The restaurants at Al Habtoor City offer pre-show and post-show dining. The combo package handles this — standalone ticket holders should plan independently.

Children are welcome but not all ages will enjoy it. The show has no dialogue, so language isn’t an issue. But the dark theatre, loud sound effects, and intense lighting can overwhelm children under 5. Ages 6+ generally love it — the acrobatics and water effects are genuinely thrilling for kids.

La Perle vs Other Dubai Shows

Dubai has several entertainment options. Here’s how La Perle compares.

La Perle vs desert safari entertainment: Not even close. The desert safari belly dance and fire shows are fun diversions included with dinner. La Perle is a purpose-built, $13-million-per-year production with 65 professional performers. They’re in different universes.

La Perle vs dinner cruise shows: The dinner cruises offer background entertainment while you eat. La Perle demands your full attention for 90 minutes. Choose the cruise for a relaxed evening with food. Choose La Perle when entertainment is the main event.

La Perle vs Cirque du Soleil: La Perle was created by Franco Dragone, who directed many of Cirque du Soleil’s most famous shows. The DNA is similar but La Perle has something Cirque doesn’t — a transforming aqua stage with 2.7 million liters of water. That single element changes everything.

Show Schedule and Availability

La Perle performs 3-5 times per week, typically Tuesday through Saturday. Show times are usually 7:00pm and 9:30pm, though the schedule varies by season.

Peak season (October-April) sees the highest demand. Weekend shows (Thursday and Friday evenings) sell out 1-2 weeks in advance. Book early if you’re visiting during this period.

Summer (May-September) has lighter attendance. You can often book 2-3 days ahead and even find last-minute availability. Prices sometimes drop slightly for off-peak performances.

Ramadan and holidays may affect the schedule. Some shows are cancelled or rescheduled during religious holidays. Check the official schedule before booking during these periods.

Getting to La Perle

Location: La Perle Theatre, Al Habtoor City, Sheikh Zayed Road. Between Business Bay and the Dubai Water Canal.

Metro: Business Bay station (Red Line), then a 10-minute walk or short taxi to Al Habtoor City.

Taxi: Ask for “Al Habtoor City” or “La Perle Theatre.” Budget $10-$15 from most central hotels. The complex has a taxi rank for easy departure after the show.

Al Habtoor City hotel complex in Dubai
Al Habtoor City is a hotel and entertainment complex on Sheikh Zayed Road. Three luxury hotels, restaurants, and the La Perle theatre share the waterfront site. The complex is well-lit and easy to navigate at night.

Is La Perle Worth $73?

Unequivocally yes. I’ve seen Cirque du Soleil in Vegas, the West End in London, and Broadway in New York. La Perle holds its own against all of them — and in some ways, the water effects and technology give it an edge that traditional theatres can’t match.

At $73 for 90 minutes of world-class entertainment, it’s cheaper than comparable shows globally. The production value is extraordinary. The performers are exceptional. And the water effects are something you simply cannot see anywhere else.

If you only have one evening for entertainment in Dubai, La Perle is the show to see. The dinner cruises are lovely. The desert safari entertainment is fun. But La Perle is in a different league entirely.

Projection mapping lights on building exterior
After the show, the Al Habtoor City complex runs projection mapping on the building facades. It’s a free bonus that extends the visual spectacle beyond the theatre walls. Grab a coffee from the lobby and watch the buildings light up.

What Else to Do in Dubai

La Perle is the perfect evening activity after a day of sightseeing. Pair it with a morning at the Burj Khalifa, an afternoon at the Museum of the Future, and you’ve had a Dubai day that covers heights, innovation, and spectacle.

For more evening entertainment, the dinner cruises on the Marina offer a completely different mood — relaxed, scenic, and food-focused. And the Old Dubai walking tours with evening timing show you the creek and souks at their most atmospheric.

Choreographed dance group performing on stage
La Perle is Dubai’s answer to a question nobody asked: “What if we built the world’s most technologically advanced theatre, hired the best performers on Earth, and then filled the stage with water?” The answer, it turns out, is something unforgettable.
